Stamp of the German "Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren" (= Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia); 1939; definitive stamp DRBM Michel No. 10; definitive stamp of Czechoslovakia (Michel No. A1 (former No. 406 from April 1939) with double line overprint of the new country name "Böhmen und Mähren / Čechy a Morava" and fessed old coutry name.; Old country name "CESKO-SLOVENSKO" (with hyphen (without hyphen = DRBM Michel No. 9)).; The abbreviation for the currency is „K“ (not „Kč“.; The stamp motive shows a side-portrait of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850-1937).; Masaryk was a Czech philosopher, politician, sociologist and writer.; He was until to the WWI member of the Austrian-Hungarian "Reichsrat" and was 1919-1937 the first President of the new-founded independent Republic of Czechoslovakia.; He was Professor for Philosophy on the Charles-University in Prague.; The initial stamps issued from the government of this protectorate (1-19) were valid until to the (also accepted as mixed frankings).
