Historie
Français : La commune de Satigny, qui correspond à l’ancien Mandement de Peney, ou Terre du Mortier, possédé en souveraineté par l’évêque puis, dès 1536, par la seigneurie et république de Genève, est par excellence l’ancien territoire rural genevois. Les armoiries qu’elle a adoptées sont tirées du sceau du prieur de Satigny de 1340: ce sceau représente une main tenant une clef à double panneton avec un soleil et un croissant. Satigny a supprimé la main et a donné à l’écu les couleurs cantonales et fédérales.
